Case Study on Social Rights
Reveals Larger Problem of
Defective Legal Representation

We have been studying the case of Gregory Demer for two years.  We reviewed it to learn the dynamics of how the social rights of limited conservatees are protected or violated.  We published a report on our findings in the social rights study in January 2015.

We have written a new report on another dimension of rights violations in the limited conservatorship system -- defective legal representation.  The report and several exhibits form the basis for a new complaint to the Department of Justice.

We have also submitted proposals for new court rules governing all court-appointed attorneys in these cases.  The time for change is now.
